Being a plainclothes 'hero of the people,' Community Activist rights wrongs by becoming involved in city council meetings, and when necessary, public demonstrations. All, at times just barely, remain in the letter of the law if not always the spirit of it.
But this is all a lie...
Alicia Fox began her career, if you will, in activism at Commander USA High School. As part of the backlash of the post-Viet Nam era, a group of parents organized a strong campaign against the school district aimed at reverting the school's name to its original moniker of Holly Hills High. These parents did not want their children going to a school that glamorized a war hero of any kind. To make their voices heard, Alicia - as head of the school's cheerleading squad - helped lead a group of students in a school spirit-led protest on the front lawn proudly displaying their school emblem and colors as the Commander USA High School Wingmen. Ultimately, though it cost the students detention, their school pride drowned out the parents' protest and the name remains to this day. Her efforts earned Alicia a reputation in leadership that ultimately made her school president and later president of the student body during her higher education pursuits. Alicia would then be called on by people to become involved in various efforts, from aiding the homeless to being part of every Commander USA High School reunion committee her class has ever had. The problem is, all this community involvement left Alicia burned out and unfulfilled, barely able to juggle her day job as a manager of a local boutique clothing store.
Her
support of her alma mater brought Alicia to the high school band battle
competition, a new project launched by school principal Lionel Anderson
to gain
attention for the school. Alicia watched in the audience the night
Debra took
her surprise flight, an event that re-awakened in her a sense of wonder
and a
belief that the impossible could happen. That night, and the fact the
band
attends her own alma mater, has created in Alicia's mind a bond
to Flying Glory
and the Hounds of Glory that comes to grow over time.
Alicia brought her community activist drive to organize people to save
the Regis, a local old Hollywood theater in danger of buyout and
destruction by the megacorporation A.Z. Tek. Elsie brought Debra
over to show the younger Flying Glory how a community can come
together. In the end Debra as Flying Glory saved the theater from
being lost by the magical mischief of the bitter illusionist Reappearo
and Elsie stepped in to purchase the theater with funds invested years
ago that she accepted as Flying Glory solely as a matter of honor and
secretly put away. Alicia now works as assistant to Elsie,
managing the theater on her behalf.
