Master of sound and music, his weapons are are sharps and flats. He is able to manipulate the very nature of sound, creating a cloaking shield around him and is teams so they aren't heard or creating a weapon of "solid sound" which could destroy a building.
Concerto was the first of the modern age heroes which Flying Glory approached to be part of her team. His mechanical and technical geunious has prooven a great benifit against many of their advesaries.
But all this is a lie...
One of the things John built that he was most
proud
of was an elaborate homemade synthesizer that could replicate the sound
of
an entire band. He talked his neighbor and
longtime
friend Debra Clay (whom he knew could sing well) into performing with
him
in the junior high talent show. Joining
them
was sound board whiz Nate Tsushihashi, who worked Debra's microphone
while
John mastered the synthesizer. John's
magnificent
programmed music, Debra's singing a cover tune, and Nate's deft board
work
turned in a performance that won them first prize -- and inspired them
to
start a regular band called the Glory Hounds. They regularly performed
as
a cover band at school events and community block parties. In
high school, the Glory Hounds (they would soon have to change their
name to
the HOUNDS OF GLORY when they discovered there already existed a
profession band called the Glory Hounds. They didn't want to step
on someone's copyright) were approached by songwriting (and then, also
romantic) couple Vince Giantassio and Lucy Alvarez; they asked to
perform drums and guitar in the band in exchange
for original compositions
-- and the group's popularity soared.
About becoming Flying Glory and the Hounds of
Glory,
the only difference John sees is putting on a costume and adding a
little
more "show" to the show. Mainly, John
loves
the idea of Flying Glory and the Hounds of Glory because Debra does. If Debra's happy, John is happy. The
way some people see it, John may even be in unrequited love with his
childhood
friend.
